HOTEL MARIA CRISTINA BRINGS POP UP RESTAURANT BY HÉLÈNE DARROZE, FOR SUMMER SEASON 2016

Inspirational French Basque fourth-generation chef who cooks ingredient-led food with Basque soul. 

Helene Darroze gastronomic offer is based on local products and flavours but seek to offer a different angle to the existing proposals of one of the most important gastro cities of the world, European Culture Capital this year.

 

With one Michelin star at her restaurant in Paris and two in London, Hélène Darroze has created a cuisine where ingredients always take precedence in her kitchen. Their quality, source, freshness and the producer behind them are also essential selection criteria. She seeks to enhance them but at all times applying the greatest respect for the product, the season and expertise.

HÉLÈNE DARROZE

Hailing from Villeneuve-de-Marsan in south-west France, Hélène Darroze received the keys to her father’s kitchen, Chez Darroze, in 1995 and spent the next four years refining her culinary style. At 32, she opened her eponymous restaurant on the Left Bank in Paris, awarded 1 Michelin star and in 2008 oppened, in London, Hélène Darroze at the Connaught, awarded 2 Michelin star.

She has been named the 2015 Veuve Clicquot World’s Best Female Chef and is part of the jury for the successful TV program “Top Chef” in France (2015, 2016).
